Halo TV Series Scheduled For 2022 Release On Paramount Plus

The long running video game Halo, will be released as a TV series in the first few months of 2022. It will be released on Paramount Plus, Paramount Picture’s streaming service. The release is projected to be some time in the first quarter of that year.

As reported by Variety, the project had already been picked up by Showtime in 2018, with 10 episodes scheduled. Paramount will now take over airing the show, with official announcement coming on Wednesday, February 3 of 2021.

The show follow the game’s main protagonist, Master Chief, a super-soldier known as a Spartan. Pablo Schreiber (The Wire; American Gods; Den Of Thieves) will don the helmet in the lead role. Guiding him as Cortana, will be Natasha McElhone (Ronin; Designated Survivor), who also plays Dr. Catherine Halsey.

The show’s cast is rounded out by Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy so far.

Production crew also includes Steven Spielberg as an executive producer.
