Watch: Lacey Sturm Returns With “State Of Me.”

It’s been about five years since Lacey Sturm came out with an album. Now, following her debut solo (2016’s Life Screams), a new album is heavily anticipated to drop this summer. In anticipation of this upcoming album, Sturm has now released the single, State Of Me.

Infused with the heavy guitar riffs, and powerful drums that marked Sturm’s hard-rock beginnings, she seems not to have lost a step since her last album. And to keep things in familiar territory, she’s clearly maintained the common theme behind the overarching message of her music career. To speak into those you would normally find in the fringes, with a message that they can get past the darkness that haunts them.

With an impressive collaboration that includes her husband Josh Sturm (Producer/Recorder), and co-writing efforts by Skillet’s John and Korey Cooper, State Of Me delivers a palatable foretaste of what fans can expect when the summer arrives.

After her departure from Flyleaf, Sturm had kept quite busy. A solo album was released. A few books were written. When Breaking Benjamin released Aurora, a compilation of their past hits, Sturm was featured in a memorable duet video of Dear Agony with Ben Burnley.

With this next single, and it’s accompanying album in the summer, it should be an exciting return for her waiting fans.
